MISSION

The commission’s main objectives are:

  • To provide medical guidance and support for FIDE events and activities.
  • To ensure fair play and integrity in chess by implementing and enforcing the anti-doping regulations in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) standards.
  • To educate and inform chess players about the importance and benefits of anti-doping measures, as well as the potential risks and consequences of doping violations.
  • To conduct research and analysis on the medical aspects of chess, such as the effects of chess on cognitive function, mental health, and physical fitness.

The commission believes that doping control is not only a matter of compliance, but also a way of protecting and enhancing the quality of chess as a sport and a cultural activity. By adhering to the anti-doping principles, chess players can demonstrate their respect for themselves, their opponents, and the chess community. The commission strives to create a safe, healthy, and fair environment for all chess participants.
